To be a good teacher, you need to be radical. You have to listen to your students and treat them as colleagues so that together you have a collaborative, constructive relationship that is designed with the sole purpose of bettering the student; it is never about the teacher.
Some weeks are too long and by the time I get to Friday I drag myself across the finish line, margarita in-hand.
This week is too long already, but I realize that it is just another day to work harder to get in shape for the wedding. It’s another day to make good decisions for myself. It’s also another day with my love and it helps me to look forward to sleeping in Saturday mornings.
Maybe this week I’ll be proud of myself. It has been a while.

My father was not meant to be a dad.
I have been so angry with him my entire life and yet I can’t just walk away from him because he has the dad title. Some think that I should be lucky to even have a dad… I know for a fact that they are wrong.
